20th Year Anniversary for R. Gene Richter Scholarship
The R. Gene Richter Scholarship
Welcome to the 21st year of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship. The R. Gene Richter Scholarship was first awarded in 2004 and named for the late R. Gene Richter. Please see the download of his bio below. In 2003, Professor Robert Monczka, R. David Nelson, Theresa Metty, Jimmy Anklesaria, Bob Calderoni, Dennie Norman, Linda Obrec and Nancy Richter came together to organize the scholarship program. To date, this scholarship has grown in national prominence and been awarded to over 140 students from 26 different universities across the United States.
The R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program is a national program offered to students enrolled in an accredited supply chain management program that offers tuition assistance, executive and junior mentoring as well as networking opportunities. Our aim is to help fund the senior year of college, so eligible students are those who will graduate in either December, 2024 or Spring, 2025. December, 2024 winners will be awarded tuition assistance of $5,000 and Spring, 2025 winners will be awarded $10,000. In additional to tuition assistance, students will be paired with an Executive Mentor who is an executive in the field of supply management as well as with a Junior Mentor, who is a previous winner of the award. We are delighted to invite our 2024 Richter Scholars to attend the ISM International Conference in Las Vegas, NV from April 29 - May 1, 2024. Richter Scholars will be presented at a dinner on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The winners will meet their mentors at the International ISM Conference in 2024 and will be invited to return to the ISM International Conference in 2026 to attend the Executive Conference and network with leaders in the field.
Applicants must be a US Citizen or possess a valid green card and sign a commitment that the proceeds of the scholarship will be used for only educational expenses, including tuition, books, computer needs and other costs of daily living.
